Marcia Baker's energetic and vibrant watercolor paintings represent her connection with the woods and coast of Maine. She is known for her underwater scenes of trout and salmon. Vivid Wildlife images, such as moose, ravens and wild birds, come to life on paper and canvas. She is an avid ecologist and sportsman. Favorite outdoor pastimes, like kayaking, canoing or sailing to her favorite coastal island, are woven into stories. Sporting Images of fly-fishing, Nordic and alpine skiing, hiking, bird and duck hunting are captured from experiences with her husband. Yet wandering in a lupine field portrays moments of peacefulness. She is now expanding in oil painting as well as pastel media. Her paintings also include her adventure trips to the Amazon River, Alaska, and Newfoundland. Her aspiration is "to pass on those inspiring moments to you." Baker is also a psychotherapist and a self-taught artist. Baker resides with her family in Rangeley and has a second home on Flying Point in Freeport Maine.

She has studied with Carlton Plummer, AWS; Carol Sebold, AWS; Karlyn Holman, AWS; Skip Lawrence, AWS, and wildlife artists like Heiner Hertling and Wanda Mumm. She has won best of show at the annual Freeport Art Club Exhibit. Baker regularly receives awards, including first place for her sporting paintings at the Maine State Sportsman Wildlife Show.

Marcia regularly exhibits at Forestreet Gallery, Portland; Gallery at Stoney Batter Station, Oquossoc, ME; and Goldsmith Gallery, Sugarloaf, Carrabassett Valley Maine.
